INNERVISIONS || ÂME (3 hour set)
4th MAY 2014
Doors open at 11pm

A long overdue return of Innervisions to the capital with head honchos ÂME playing a 3 hour set in the intimate setting of The Caves. This really is a long time coming event for us, seeing the last time one of the Innervisons crew touched down in Edinburgh was some 6 years ago. Åme (Kristian Beyer) the man who runs the much lauded Innervisions label alongside Åme co member Franck Weidemann & Dixon has been on our radar for far too long , so we're buzzing to finally have Kristian come perform at our party.

SKERRYVORE
Part of EDINBURGH TRADFEST
8th MAY 2014
Doors open at 7pm

Skerryvore first formed on the tiny lsle of Tiree off Scotland’s west coast in 2005. Back then, the band consisted of Tiree-born brothers Daniel Gillespie (accordion) and Martin Gillespie (bagpipes, whistles & accordion) who bonded with holidaymaker Fraser West (drums & vocals) and friend Alec Dalglish (lead vocals & guitar) over a shared love of music: everything from traditional to rock and iazz. It was this mix of musical styles and sounds that set the path for the band’s 2005 debut album, ‘West Coast Life.’ The more the fledgling band experimented with fusing together this mix of musical styles, the more their signature sound evolved, aided by the arrival of Barry Caulfield (bass & vocals) and Craig Espie (fiddle) in time for their second album, ‘On The Road’, in 2007. But it was with the release of self-titled third album, ‘Skerryvore’, that the band found themselves catapulted into the musical limelight winning a string of prestigious awards, including SNMA Record of the Year 2011 and STMA Live Act of the Year 2011, and garnering much critical acclaim.

PCL Presents...
MOON DUO
support TBC
4th September 2014
Doors open at 7pm

Moon Duo are the project of Sanae Yamada and her beau, Erik ‘Ripley’ Johnson of droney San Franciscan outfit Wooden Shjips.Moon Duo’s sound does not deviate too far from that of the ’Shjips, with Johnson providing similar hallucinogenic guitar work and laconic half-sung/half-spoken vocals. However, with the addition of Yamada on the synths, the feel is more up-tempo and, at times, even playful. Taking their cue from the minimalist electronic style of Silver Apples, pulsating synths are carried by cyclic motorik drum loops that repeat, and repeat, and repeat.

Royal Southern Brotherhood
support from SafeHouse
8th September 2014
Doors open at 7pm

Before they even hit a chord, The Royal Southern Brotherhood have your attention. In the US South, where music is religion, two rock ‘n’ roll bloodlines tower above all others. In the saloon bars from Mississippi to Maryland, mere mention of the Allman and Neville Brothers casts a magic spell. Conversation falls silent. Pool balls stop rolling. Ten-gallon hats are tipped in respect and beer-bottles raised in salute. These aren’t just bands, they’re gods, and with a lineup comprising both the iconic Cyril Neville and Devon Allman, The Royal Southern Brotherhood come pre-loaded with expectations. Don’t worry: they can match them. The family tree might be auspicious, but this new band trades on talent, not genealogy. It’s not about rock history: it’s about the here-and-now.
