The Caves is an exciting, truly unique and atmospheric venue situated deep in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town. The multiple possibilities of the space mean that we can guarantee that your Wedding will be a truly memorable experience. All aspects of your Big Day are possible, from the ceremony right through to the evening do.In order create that special Big Day for you we have split our weddings into two packages which are dependent on numbers attending.

Smaller more intimate wedding parties for up to 60 day guests and 110 evening guests, are held in the Rowantree. Steeped in history and fabulously cosy this is a great venue for more personal weddings. The Rowantree is licensed for civil, humanist, religious and hand fasting ceremonies.

Larger weddings of 65 to 130 day guests and up to 450 evening guests are held in the Caves. This unique venue makes up the sub-structure of the 18th Century South Bridge, there is no venue more Edinburgh than the Caves. Or more Scottish than Scottish if you consider there was once so much Whisky stored here that it became known as "Whisky Row".

Every room has a story to tell and a special place in Scottish history - from vaults that served as the stables to the French Cavalry who were at one time body guards to the Royal Family, to remains of the houses that pre-date the Bridge itself - with the original terracotta floor tiles still intact! This amazing and fantastically unique venue will wow your guests and is licensed for civil, humanist, religious and hand fasting ceremonies.

Everyone said what a perfect venue it was and how it truly reflected us. I loved in particular that nothing much, if at all, needs done to decorate the venue as it screams character and provides a romantic setting without even trying. I can't thank you, Caroline, enough for all of the support over the last year and you truly made the process a lot easier for me. I don't even want to count the amount of emails I have sent you, especially the ones the night before the wedding. I loved how I could ask you any question and you always gave me a practical answer. You were the best wedding planner I could have asked for! Ewen, your service and attentiveness was incredible on Friday, all of the family have commented on how great you were and I'm sorry for being so late... You covered this up so smoothly as we began to run late. Everything ran perfectly, even with the builders and the cement thing, but it only added a unique anecdote for us in the future. You were definitely more worried than we were. I cried, when I came to collect our things on Tuesday, not sad tears but tears because I was reminded of what an incredible day we had at The Caves. " Liam and I Married in the Rowantree on the 7th of June and have finally got round to saying a big thank you. We had such a wonderful day. Your venue is stunning and such a credit to Edinburgh. You made the planning run smoothly, as I arranged the whole day myself your staff were a god send and helped me put it all together, from advice on suppliers to what works best. On the day of our Wedding you put me at ease on arrival and even made me laugh, I was petrified! I have heard many compliments from our guests regarding the Dinning following our wedding. The food was quite simply amazing. I have heard nothing but praise on portion sizes and produce, this is something that can be an issue at Weddings, but not at the Caves. Everyone was full up, my family love big portions so the pork with black pudding went down a treat and the children's menu was fresh and home made. Other venues should pay heid!! Your staff lovely, just mingled in nicely and were very friendly. Relaxed and lovely venue, all guests raving about the Caves still. What a gem of a place. Thank you again. "

" I would highly recommend this wedding venue - the staff are all extremely professional, understanding and kind and really take the stress out of your big day. They go out of their way to make sure you have the perfect day. The venue is simply stunning and needs very little decoration as it's own features are beautiful enough. The prices are very reasonable, including bar prices, and the food was outstanding. One (very hard to please) vegetarian guest described it as "the best meal she had ever had". We have had nothing but positive feedback from our guests and both had an amazing, stress free day. "

" We chose The Caves for our wedding because we were looking for a more unusual location to get married in rather than a traditional stately home and fell in love with the venue as soon as we found it online. Our first visit didn’t disappoint; the Caves had such a magical atmosphere a. There was so much history attached to the venue, huge amount of space that we could use exclusively for the whole day plus it had ‘wow’ factor. Despite the distance of the venue from our home (over 300 miles), we came away knowing we had to get married there. The Caves offered such amazing value for money, especially when compared to other potential venues we had looked at, and had no hidden charges attached which made keeping within budget that little bit easier. From first contact to post wedding, Caroline, Marcelle and the team at the venue showed professionalism, patience, flexibility, helpfulness and friendliness. They took so much stress out of the whole experience and made sure the day flowed seamlessly. Getting married in the Caves made our day extra special – from the candles lining the alter, old remains which made our photos look extra special, fairy lights, the wine vaults in which guests could relax, the delicious food and the fact that we were able to hold everything in the same place. Everyone fell in love with it as much as we did. My dad was so proud. Everyone keeps telling us it’s the best wedding venue they’ve ever been to! Our wedding was so much more than we ever dreamt it could be. The only problem – we fell in love with the venue so much we didn’t want to leave at the end. We’re already looking for an excuse to go back! "

Fair play to you Caroline, you are the bomb!!!! From the minute everyone stepped inside, there was an atmosphere that was just electric. Everyone was chilled out and everything went so smooth. "Well i'm sure Dave beat me to it but we're just back from honeymoon and wanted to say a massive thank you for everything on the 23rd and of course the run up to it. We had the most amazing time and all the guests have been blown away by the venue, the food, the staff....just everything. I could really start gushing now but could you pass on our thanks to Jonathan, J, Gillian, Janet, Mark, Hamish, Fran and Kenny. I hope i haven't left anyone out because they were all so good to us.
